The tradition of production of technical balls at Ginzel, s.r.o. dates back to 1991, when the company was founded in Jablonec nad Nisou by Ing. Wolfgang Ginzel who co-founded the company EcoGlass, s.r.o. in Jablonec, which was engaged in a wider range of activities in the field of glass production and glass technology.
Through gradual specialization, the present-day, already highly specialized company Ginzel, s.r.o. was separated out. Its main focus is the development, production and sale of technical balls made of various glass materials.
The supplied technical spheres are manufactured exactly according to the customer’s requirements both in terms of their accuracy (guaranteed tolerance of diameter, roundness and quality of surface treatment) and in terms of the required composition or physico-chemical properties of the glass (borosilate glasses, low-alkaline glasses, special coloured glasses, etc.).
Due to the expansion of our product range, we represent on the Czech and Slovak market the products of the German company Sigmund Lindner GmbH, from which we sell mainly ceramic balls and glitters and sprinkles.
Another important assortment is technical glass products, e.g. precision visors, laboratory work plates and precision measuring cups, glass with defined transmittance of the UV light, including the sale of lenses with final pressed surface for lighting and imaging technology.
Since 2008, we have been representing on the Czech and Slovak markets the products of the German glassworks Kugler-Colors, whose cones and granules are the basic glassmaking raw material for the production of coloured glass for small glass manufacturers.
The decorative assortment is mainly represented by paperweights and furniture handles.
The company is engaged in its own research and development in the production and processing of technical glass and ceramic beads, including the application of these new processes to glassmaking practice.
Our philosophy is based on working with the customer to develop a bead or glass part specifically for their application. We love new projects that push us forward and open up new possibilities for the use of glass or ceramic marbles. The important thing is that our product will serve fully to the customer’s satisfaction.
The annual turnover of the company reaches 30 million CZK and about 95% of the products are exported to the markets of developed countries.
The company is currently based in its own facilities in Loděnice, near Beroun. There we have our own warehouse with about 25 tons of beads covering the whole range of products including the range of cones and granules of Kugler-Colors products.
We also operate a small production workshop for the manufacture of special types of glass beads and in 2011 we commissioned a unique laboratory for the precise measurement and sorting of beads.
In January 2011, we opened a shop specialising in the sale of glass marbles in Loděnice, which is the only such shop in the Czech Republic.
For the general public, our activities are connected with the Czech Marble Association, with which we cooperate to promote and popularize the traditional Czech game – playing marbles.
In the autumn of 2012, we expanded our company by another site and thus we were able to increase our product range. We added a lot of glass beads, Czech rocailles, glass decorative balls, paperweights and a brand new product – decorative 3D balls. At the same time, we have reorganized the warehouse that belongs to the shop and replenishment is now faster.
In 2015, we expanded the company by another production and warehouse area, located directly on the exit from the D5 highway to Loděnice. With this facility, we have gained additional storage space and further opportunities to develop our special production of precision glass beads.
