Microbeads ranging in size from 0 microns to 1.25 mm are sold under the trade name balotina. Microbeads are very often used in the production of decorative and reflective surfaces, where their light-reflecting ability is utilized. The main applications of microbeads are in transportation (reflective horizontal and vertical markings), in the production of projection surfaces, and in the manufacture of reflective tapes and patches on clothing.
Microbeads are also used in blasting metal parts (removal of old coatings, surface treatment, etc.), in cleaning and regeneration of molds in foundries, and as fillers in special filters.
